— WHAT THEY ARE
Bringing Damaged Teeth Back to Life
A crown is a custom cap that covers a damaged tooth — restoring its strength, shape, and appearance. A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth using crowns on the adjacent teeth as anchors.
Modern ceramic crowns can be carefully matched to the shade and shape of your surrounding teeth for a natural-looking result.
Our doctors pay close attention to the details that matter in crown and bridge treatment — fit, bite, contour, and natural-looking color.
Crown Investment
$1,100–$1,600
per crown
Bridges typically run $2,500–$4,500 (3-unit). Out-of-network PPO benefits often cover a portion of restorative work — the exact amount depends on your plan. Call us at (919) 968-9874 and we'll check your coverage before your visit.
— WHY IT MATTERS
When You Might Need One

Cracked Teeth
A cracked tooth needs a crown to prevent further breakage.

After Root Canal
Root-canaled teeth become brittle — a crown protects them long-term.

Large Cavities
When a cavity is too large for a filling, a crown restores structure.

Cosmetic
Severely discolored, misshapen, or worn teeth can be transformed.

Replacing Teeth
Bridges fill gaps from missing teeth using adjacent teeth as anchors.

Long-Lasting
Quality crowns last 15+ years; well-cared-for bridges last 10–15 years.
— THE PROCESS
Getting a Crown
1
Evaluation
One of our doctors examines the tooth, reviews appropriate X-rays, and discusses whether a crown is the right approach.
2
Preparation
The tooth is prepared, and in most cases our intraoral 3D scanner captures a detailed digital impression — avoiding traditional impression material.
3
Temporary Crown
You leave with a temporary crown protecting the tooth while your permanent one is being made.
4
Final Placement
2–3 weeks later, the permanent crown is cemented in place. You leave with a fully functional tooth.

A crown restores an existing tooth, while an implant replaces a missing tooth. The appropriate option depends on the condition of the natural tooth and the surrounding structures.
